The Twelve: Day 1
Friends, countrymen, holiday celebrants, Hello! The Christmas season looms upon us all as it gets closer and closer to the big day of Christmas. If it's Hanukkah you're celebrating, that kicks off in 2 days at sundown on the 15th. If Kwanzaa is more your speed, then prepare to celebrate on December 26th. And if you're into Festivus, well that was made up by a TV show, and I gotta tell ya, with all the Michael Richards stuff going on now, you may wanna bail on that holiday this year (although you'd probably be able to hear Kramer coming down the chimney pretty well).
This year I'm celebrating the 12 Days Of Christmas right here on this here blog. Last year we counted down in online advent style, and this year we'll focus on the next twelve days leading up to Christmas. What's all this 'we' business, you ask? I'm the only one writing this thing in my pajamas listening to Bing Crosby on repeat for the 43rd time. Well this year there might be some friends/guest posters stopping by, so watch out. You may just have your mind blown for Christmas.
To kick off the 12 Days Blogebration, here is a photo taken last week that is proof that New York loves Christmas:
When the season rolls around, people don't just hang up lights, tip the Salvation Army bell ringer, and drink some cider. No siree - the streets RUN RED WITH CHRISTMAS JOY!!! It's like a Tale Of Two Cities Christmas-style!! AND I think that half of that is Grinch blood - just for bah-humbugging in our town. We don't play.
Stay tuned for more Days to come!
